Bio

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Marketing, Communications and Advertising. I graduated in December 2010 from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln with a bachelor's degree in Education and Human Sciences majoring in Clothing and Textile Design and Mass Communications with an emphasis on Advertising.
Work Experience & Activities
I currently work at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln as a graduate assistant. I recently finished working at Oskoui-Oskoui, Inc. advertising agency this past summer, located in Los Angeles, where I worked as marketing executive. I continue to write for their blog about marketing topics and current industry news. I worked on accounts such as Fox Searchlight, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Brothers and Beats by Dre while at O+O. During my undergraduate career I stayed active working as an advertising account executive at the Daily Nerbraskan newspaper for two years, worked as a fashion merchandiser for two years, wrote for a magazine, and worked in Kansas City as an internal advertising executive intern at Indigo Wild. I was able to balance a heavy work load and maintain a competitive GPA while staying extremely active volunteering within the Nebraska community with organizations such as ALS in the Heartland, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Friendship Home, Youth Emergency Services and many more nonprofit entities along with being involved in various groups on campus.
Miss Nebraska USA
I am a former Miss Nebraska USA 2010. With the job of Miss Nebraska USA I worked on my platform, which was focused on helping young people focus on the importance of education and believing in themselves and their dreams. I encouraged our youth to be a STAR (stay in school, take chances even if you fail, ask questions, and reach for your degree). I continue to present my platform across the state of Nebraska to assemblies as large as 200 people. I represented Nebraska at the 2010 Miss USA Pageant in May 2010 in Las Vegas which was nationally televised on NBC. I was the first Miss Nebraska USA to win the Miss Congeniality award and the first Miss Nebraska USA to place in the semi finals in 30 years. I feel my duties as Miss Nebraska USA along with my coursework and other work experience within  have prepared me to take the next step in furthering my career.
Fun Facts
Although I grew up in a small town of 318 people in central Nebraska, my passion lies for living in the fast passed city. I am a firm believer in life long learning whether it's in academics, career or personal experiences. I have a passion for meeting and working with people, advertising, fashion, diversity enhancement, public speaking and creativity. In my spare time I enjoy running, sewing, photography, cooking, traveling, spending time with my mini golden doodle Harley and scrap booking.
